Open Question: What is the best lcd/plasma on the market that is 46-50 inches and around $1200-$1700?

We are refinishing our basement and are planning to put a tv down there. There is only one window in the basement and no direct light will be on the TV. What kind of TV should we get and what is the best on the market for the price range I am in? I have seen good reviews on a LG 50″ Plasma 720 (is there that big a difference on a 720 over a 1080) and a Panasonic Plasma 720 as well. Any help is appreciated. Also, a clue on what else I need besides a home entertainment center. I assume the cables, wall mount, but don’t know how much that extra stuff costs.

Voting Question: What kind of tv should I get?

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

I am looking for a tv for my new room. I am interested in a projector and screen, but I don’t know anything about them, or if they are the quality I am looking for. I am sure that in the future they will the in thing but right now I am looking at 50” and up flat pannel tvs. I would really prefer nothing over 60” because that would look crazy in in my room. Any suggestions on quality, price, and brands would be great! Any experiences would also help, such as wall mounted vs stand, lcd vs plasma, etc..

Resolved Question: Trying to decide which TV to buy. Plasma vs LCD and 1080p vs 720P…?

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

Which TV would you buy if you liked to watch fast action sports like hockey and football, and also like to play video games? Price is also a concern, so please stay at less than $2500 (preferrably less than $1750).
BTW… I’m looking to get a 46″ or 47″ screen. Thanks in advance for your answers!
