I am considering spending a considerable amount of money on either a panasonic, magnavox or maybe a vizio (and save money) I am wondering if there are any horror stories I should hear about these TVs. I have looked for reviews on the model numbers and I cannot find a place to let me compare them side by side. I guess it would help if 1 store carried all three bit unfortunately they don’t.
the panasonic is the 42 “Viera”
the Vizio is the 42 (VP 423)
and the Magnovox is the 42MF437B_37
Also I am wondering about plasma or LCD.
I also found this deal..
850. for a LCD

Plasma screen vs LCD screen wich one is better on 1080p hdtv?
And what are the benefits of one vs the other?
I’m looking to purchase a new TV in the near future and would like to know what the basic differences are and which one is “better”.
I’m looking to buy a 46-52 inch TV.
All I know is that LCD’s last longer than Plasma’s, but the Plasma’s are cheaper and sometimes produce a better picture quality.
Any help is appreciated.
i know LCD TV’s can get dead pixels but my question is, do plasma TV’s get the dead pixels too?
According to CNET these are the top 5 HDTV’s

See here’s my problem I don’t want a plasma even though technically speaking it’s a better fit for me(I’m a movie buff). I prefer an LCD, unfortunately for me CNET’s review only includes 1 LCD in the top 5. From what I’ve been reading online Samsung seem to be the best LCD HDTV’s out there. http://www.consumersearch.com/www/electronics/lcd-tv/review.html
But my original choice was Sharp Aquos(the 1080p or 1080i models).
simply because it seemed like the perfect HDTV overall, it also included this QAM tuner which had me sold instantly.

But then there was the Samsung LN52A650 that CNET recommended, and I thought what if I make the wrong decision.

When it comes down to it there is really one thing that is most important to me than price, image quality, even performance. That is can I use either of the two TV’s I mentioned as a computer monitor?. And would I any kind of upgrades or special cables. Or could I just use the monitor cable that originally comes with the computer?.

I got a 19″ APEX T.V its not a fancy HD, Plasma, LCD T.V. Its a normal T.V.
Okay well I left it on video 1 yesterday for a about 8 hours and now at the top left corner it says Video 1.
It really bothers me like when I am watching TV is there any way to get rid of it I tryde turing my tv off and stuff but is not working
one of the considerations is weight I know Plasma is heavier but by how much, a couple of kilos? 10? 20? any help anyone. thanks I guess the brand wont matter just average weight dfference please
I ordered my kids a new 50″ Plasma T.V. for their Game Room, but am now being told I should have gotten an LCD due to “ghost images” and the T.V. only lasting 5 years. It has not been delivered yet, so should I cancel and get the other? ( It was $2,400, so I don’t want to spend that much for nothing).
